For my next Substack.com piece I published a transcription of my interview with presidential candidate Robby Wells. I recorded this interview and aired it on the radio on February 14, 2019.

I took the recording and ran it through the Google ML Cloud function Speech-to-Text. This function can “accurately convert speech into text using an API powered by Google’s AI technologies.” I followed Quickstart: Using the gcloud tool, a tutorial from Google. The guide “shows you how to send a speech recognition request to Speech-to-Text using the gcloud tool from the command line.” I converted the Google Voice call recording, a MP3, to a FLAC file using cloudconvert.com/mp3-to-flac. I then uploaded it to a Google cloud storage bucket following steps of the Quickstart: Using the gcloud tool tutorial. The length of the audio recording (~66 minutes) required me to use the longrunningrecognize command. The total cost for the transcription was only $1.77. Enjoy!

Come to the opioid crisis there is a crisis here in the United States and a lot of people are hooked on things that they do a lot of come from from the point where they are trying to make.

how's that I don't know it's a very very thin line that you have to walk there because you're right we are you know if they're out there trying to make money to everybody else but you know that we're doing this medication and then another medication

what do you think about prison system how do you say what do you think about kind of prisons in prison reform

go to prison in the world do you have to have to probably come to our criminal justice system in fact if you go to the Supreme Court Equal justice under law to have the money if we don't have the money when we have to come up to pay a lawyer 3 or $500 an hour on an average so there is a huge problem that I'm actually looking at to be my attorney general
